ROSANNA HARMON

As a child I was always active in sports such as, swimming, ice skating, and soccer.  I found a new passion as I got older, which was dance.  I trained for 7 years in ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, and hip hop.  As I continued, I felt like that big akward kid in class and needed a new creative physical outlet.  While browsing the internet, I came across a video of a world champion pole dancer.  The minute I saw this I knew it was what I wanted to do.  I looked up pole dancing classes in my area and signed up for my first class.  The minute I touched the pole, I was in love.  I excelled quickly due to my dance background and was soon asked to start teaching.  I was always nervous to teach and never thought I could do that as I was always the one in the back of the class, but to my surprise I found a new love for teaching.  Seeing the excitement on students' faces while they achieved their new goals and knowing I was part of that was such a great feeling.  Pole fitness not only helped me express my continued love for dance, but it got me in the best physical shape of my life.  I have never before felt so strong, empowered, and sexy.  After branching out into pole, I continued to expand my horizons into other aerial aparatuses.  I began to play around on Lyra, and soon fell in love with that as well. Shortly after, I began to teach lyra.  My love for aerial dance got me into silks also.  I currently perform in a local circus group (Cirquedelic) based out of Oakland.  I have a passion for both teaching and performing.  I love to see my students reach their goals and progress.  I can't wait to meet my future students and watch them fall in love just like I did.  I will see you soon!

Hello everyone! (And future fellow polers) My name is Rosanna Harmon and I'm more than excited to let you guys know a little bit about myself first and foremost I wanted to let everyone know I have absolutely no dance background. No, I was not the child that spent countless hours shuffling from ballet, jazz, and tap. Furthermore I played zero sports in High School or jr. High (except for that one time in 4th grade when I was proudly on the jumprope team...for about 2 months). As a matter fact I spent most of my high school years getting into a lot of trouble... a LOT of trouble. Well this trouble led to my wonderful son at a very young age and with no fitness or health background my body became a little... well not exciting. I was not happy with my body or myself. As the years went on I tried numerous fad diets (because there's NO way I would go into a gym) so these fad diets would work for about 5 or 10 pounds and then I would just gain it all back because (and here comes the truth ladies and gentleman... ) I had no muscle. There was not a "fit" bone in my body. Well with exteme hesitance,  I finally decided to hit the gym and I had no idea what i was doing! I spent about 2 years in and out of gyms trying to come up with the secret of the mysterious "sexy body". Why was everyone (so it seemed) so fit and I was not? I even ran out and put a treadmill in my house and ran miles on it a day!  Nothing worked. I decided it probably was never going to happen for me. The gym and I  we're just simply not friends.  One day while spending some time with a friend i decided to finally ask her "how the heck did u get your killer body?!" And of course she says what all the hot girls say...,"nothing" Now I knew this wasn't true because I knew that she was a rock climber. What she said simply meant that she did not go out of her way in order to obtain such a level of fitness. It just came to her naturally because it was her hobby.  It was her source of fun and entertainment. Well the lightbulbs went on and then I thought OMG I'm getting an awesome hobby! It was her source of fun and entertainment.  And within the week I was taking my first pole dancing class (I had always wanted to try it) After my first dance class I was hooked!  It was all I ever talked about and it literally consumed me.  It transformed me and my body into a strong, confident, and happy woman and because of this I found I was a better mother and partner.

I began to take 4 or 5 classes a week and hitting the pole hard.  I made wonderful friends and discovered muscles I never knew I had. After some time, I even began to teach my own classes and with this, I discovered a whole new level of my love for pole. I've been in a teaching position several times in my life and have always known that I'm an excellent and warm teacher. But I never thought that I'd be a fitness instructor.... and I love it. I love watching women and men become elated when they nail a new move or watch themselves get stronger and stronger with each class. I get to relive my first experiences over and over again through the students. Seeing the joy on their faces when they come in and truly fall in love with the sport and begin to advocate through their friends and family is awesome. I'm simply a more happier person that I have ever been in my life and of course I have never been stronger and more fit.Pole dancing just clicked for me. It was an immediate love at first sight situation and I would never go back. Coming from absolutely no fitness background and transforming my body into what it is today is a complete and total shock even for myself. Still some days I wake up and look at myself and think, oh my gosh. how did I even get here. I'm definitely not the person I was 2 years ago. Im part of this amazing community where friendship, drive, amd encouragement come together. Spending hours with friends challenging eachother, laughing, inspiring one another was truly the secret for me. Ive learned that I'm not that lone wolf in the gym with headphones doing the same move repeatedly by myself. Im a people person. If I can inspire at least one person to find themselves and their fit amd sexy persona in pole, then I win. :)Can't wait to meet everyone!

katie wilkerson

Hi everyone My name is Katie Wilkerson. I believe that life should be spent doing what You truly love and I strive to live that philosophy everyday through hard work and determination. I haven't always been an upside down junkie, I remember the days when dangling with my head to the floor was a mere terrifying concept. In the rapid months of growth spent in blood, sweat and literal tears, I have come to know and love upside down hang time aka aerial acrobatics as a way of life. Aerial art has grown my confidence, community and horizons bigger than I could have ever fathomed. I see the art as an uncommon, innovative creation station that I wish to share with all of you through teaching and performing. I've never been more excited about life, until the beautiful moment I finally let go of my fears, and embraced the upside down life. This art is more than that, and I can't wait to help everyone else 'let go' as well.

After 2 years of Pole and 1 of Silks, she has geared her yoga instruction toward building a solid foundation for the aerial arts. Focusing on strengthening upper body and core. Finding control especially with inversions and arm balances. Learning breath and getting more in tune with your body. And last but certainly not least, flexibility, not only to improve the ease and look of your aerial moves, but also to soften and sooth the aches from a powerful aerial practice. Come decompress and heal the body and mind, while learning to isolate muscles and gain full control of yourself and the aerial arts of your choosing.

rebecca olender

Hello ladies, and brave gentlemen. My name is Rebecca Olender and I amthe proud mother of four amazing kids. I spend much of my time with my active and energetic children and I have found that the best way for me to stay in shape is to keep moving and the best way to keep myself moving is to have fun doing it! Enter Pole Fitness!
I was introduced to “pole Fitness” in 2012 and I was very impressed with the amount of athleticism involved! I began attending classes in the spring of 2013 when I started working with my sister at her Southern California studio. I was so excited to try something new and also scared to death. I quickly realized that Pole is unique in that I have yet to meet anyone who has been poling since they were 5. I have no dance background but I am very much enjoying the feminine side that I can tap into. I have so much enjoyed seeing how pole affects the women, and men, who chance to try it! Women from 18-60 often come to pole as a means to get fit or find their sexy and I love opportunity to be a part of that! The health side effects of the physical challenges are great to see but better still are the emotional growth and sense of confidence and accomplishment that so many have when they choose to embrace this amazing and unique sport!
Please come and join me! I would love the chance to “play” on the poles and challenge myself, and you, to be a stronger version of who we are today!
